Performance & Leadership Therapy

Performance & Leadership Therapy is designed for professionals, healthcare providers, business owners, entrepreneurs, leaders, and students navigating high expectations, significant responsibility, and periods of growth or transition. Therapy provides a confidential space to understand the pressures, patterns, and experiences shaping how you work and lead—while developing greater self-awareness, clarity, and the capacity to move forward in ways that are more sustainable and aligned with what matters to you.

Available in person in San Antonio and virtually for eligible clients throughout Texas.

How Performance & Leadership Therapy Can Help

High achievement often comes with pressures others may not see. Whether you're navigating leadership responsibilities, academic pressure, career transitions, burnout, or significant change, therapy can help you understand the patterns, expectations, and experiences shaping how you think, work, lead, and relate to others—while creating space to consider what is sustainable and what may need to change.

What Performance & Leadership Therapy Looks Like at STX

Therapy is more than talking about stress or solving the next problem. At STX Therapy, sessions create space to understand the patterns, experiences, and expectations shaping how you think, respond, work, and lead. Our approach combines evidence-based care with practical strategies, deeper understanding, and individualized support as you consider what is working, what may need to change, and how you want to move forward.

Performance & Leadership Therapy is psychotherapy provided within a clinical therapeutic relationship. It is not executive coaching, business consulting, or organizational advisory work.

Evidence-Based

Care is informed by current research and adapted to your individual needs, experiences, circumstances, and what matters to you.

Practical

Insight is translated into strategies you can apply beyond the therapy room—in your work, relationships, decisions, and daily life.

Collaborative

Therapy is a partnership. Together, we explore patterns, identify strengths, and develop strategies that fit the realities of your life.

Individualized

Your responsibilities, values, experiences, and circumstances are unique. Your care should be too.

Is Performance & Leadership Therapy Right for You?

You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many professionals, leaders, business owners, entrepreneurs, and students seek support when sustained demands, significant responsibility, or periods of change begin to affect how they think, feel, perform, or connect with others.

Therapy can also be a place for growth—not simply recovery. Greater understanding of yourself can help you navigate pressure, make more intentional decisions, and develop more sustainable ways of moving through demanding seasons of life.

What to Expect During Your First Appointment

Your first appointment is an opportunity to understand what is happening beneath the demands you are managing. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, the pressures and transitions you may be navigating, and what you would like to better understand, change, or strengthen. Together, we’ll begin identifying patterns, priorities, and a direction for our work. There is no expectation to have everything figured out before you arrive.

1. Understanding What Brings You In

We’ll discuss what is happening now, what feels most important, and what you would like support in understanding or navigating.

2. Understanding the Bigger Picture

We’ll explore relevant experiences, patterns, strengths, relationships, and pressures that may be shaping how you are functioning today.

3. Clarifying What Matters

Together, we’ll identify meaningful priorities and define what progress could look like for you.

4. Developing a Direction

Together, we’ll begin identifying next steps and how therapy may support what you are working through and where you want to go.

You do not need to arrive with all the answers. The first appointment is simply a place to begin—with greater understanding, a clearer sense of direction, and a plan for moving forward.
